PDF reports do not open in prime

When trying to generate a PDF report in prime, a window opens and closes quickly and the report is not opened and cannot be viewed.

NOTE: In order for newer versions of Internet Explorer to be able to handle the PDF reports generated by PRIME, some changes need to be made to the security settings in Internet Explorer. For ICTS staff located at sites where their PC's are managed by the clients IT department, you may need to speak to the clients IT department to make the required changes. 

To make the changes required:

    • Go to Internet Options. This can be accessed either via the Tools menu in Internet Explorer or via the Control Panel (Start Menu > Control Panel).
    • From Internet options click on the Security tab. If PRIME has been added defined as a Trusted Site on your computer then you will need to select the Trusted Sites zone. If not, then select the Internet zone.
    • Click on Custom Level.
    • In the list that appears, look for the option called "Automatic prompting for file downloads" (it should appear about a third of the way down the list in the Downloads section). Set this option to Enable.
    • Click OK to close the Security Settings window.
    • Click OK to close the Internet Options window.

When you now try to generate a PDF report, you will get the option to either Open or Save the file. To view the report immediately, click on Open.
